What’s the difference between a chairlift and a stairlift?

People use both terms interchangeably. Stairlift is the manufacturer term for a mechanical device for lifting people up and down stairs. (Some people also refer to it as a “Stair Lift.”)

The term “chairlift” can be confused with a “lift chair” which is an easy chair, like a lazyboy chair, that raises up to make it easier to get off it.

Is stairlift financing available?

As Medicare does NOT pay for a stairlift, we offer a one year rent to own option!

How much does a stairlift cost?

Contact us for a quote for your stairlift. We offer competitively priced, high quality units designed for a persons individual situation.

Is a stairlift easily installed?

A straight rail is installed in less than 4 hours. Curved rails take a day, with rails having multiple curves sometimes needing a second day for proper installation.

Does a stairlift take up much space?

The rail sits at the bottom of the step, about 7 inches off the base of the wall. The seat and arms of the lift fold up, and the chair can be stored at the bottom or the top, with a remote control allowing it to be placed where desired from either floor of the home!

How is a stairlift powered?

We offer only units that have a battery pack onboard the seat. The lift motor is powered by the batteries, which are charged with a simple battery charger. In case of a power outage, the lift will continue to operate for 10-15 runs up and down the steps.

Is there grease or are gears exposed?

No gearing is exposed, and it is recommended that the lift has periodic lubrication with lithium lubricant (once or twice a year).
